Birthlight Yoga Certificate of Training for the Repair and Prevention of Diastasis Recti

1 to 1 Postnatal Yoga

Postnatal yoga is the ideal way to help your body recover from pregnancy and birth: helping you strengthen and tone your body and giving your mind the peace it needs to properly rest.  Sessions primarily focuses on mum, but we can incorporate gentle stretches and interaction with your baby too, the perfect way to introduce yoga into your baby's life.
Benefits of Postnatal Yoga:
  1. Rebuild core strength by strengthening pelvic floor, hips and abdominal core muscles *
  2. Improve posture and minimise the negative effects of caring for your baby by strengthening and realigning your spine
  3. Release tension in the back, shoulders and neck
  4. Enjoy well earned rest and relaxation
  5. Restore hormonal balance and improve energy levels
  6. Reduce stress anxiety and help prevent postnatal depression
  7. Improve your sleep
  8. Find time to connect with your baby
* Diastasis Recti occurs where the abdominal muscles have separated, which can become more common during pregnancy. Classes can include checking and guidance for self-checking of Diastasis Recti.  Specific poses to strengthen and repair this area will be included throughout the course.

Classes are suitable for ladies 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 12 weeks after a c-section.  In all instances, confirmation that medical postnatal checks have been completed is required. All course are accredited by Fedant (The Federation of Antenatal Educators).
Cost is £40 and classes last around 1hr 15mins. For a 4 week block booking cost is £140. Terms and conditions apply.
